Early diagnosis of AMD (Age-related Macular Degeneration) is key to improving the disease outcome. STARS stands for Simplified Théa AMD Risk-assessment Scale. It is a new and promising risk assessment tool that allows early, simple and fast identification of AMD, by filling out a simple, self-administered questionnaire, which can help HCPs to adapt their recommendations (lifestyle, diet, food supplementation…) and follow-up according to the risk stratification.
The questionnaire has already been developed and validated in Italy, Spain, Algeria and France by ophthalmological experts in AMD, and can be found in ophthalmic, pharmaceutical and general practices.
