Cooperative partnership between public and private research
Institut de la Vision

Théa entered a new type of cooperative partnership between public and private research by setting up a research satellite at the "Institut de la Vision". Located in Paris in the "Quinze-Vingts" eye hospital, it is one of the most important research centres on eye diseases in Europe. Designed as a place to meet and exchange ideas, scientific, clinical and industrial research teams are all found under the same roof so encouraging concept and technique sharing, cross fertilization of skills and the emergence of new lines of research. The institute's aim is to discover new therapies to treat the diseases that cause visual impairment, such as macular degeneration, glaucoma or diabetic retinopathy.

Eye nutrition and diseases
Bordeaux University Hospital and the department U897 at Inserm

In the area of food supplements for ocular health, Théa supports the “Alienor” study, initiated in 2006, which is one of the few current epidemiological studies to include both nutritional and ophthalmic data. This study is the fruit of collaboration between the Department U897 of Epidemiology and Biostatics at Inserm and the Department of Ophthalmology at the Bordeaux University Hospital. It provides an exceptional tool to study the role of nutrition in eye diseases.
